On Saturday March 18, Scotland County hosted the 54th annual Scotland County Invitational Scholar Bowl Tournament. The tournament contained 16 HS teams and 10 JH teams. We would like to show our deepest appreciation for the 50+ volunteers for working the tournament.
The Scotland Varsity squad went 5-3 on the day earning 7th place. The JV team went 4-4 earning 13th place. Hallsville defeated Schuyler to claim the Barbara Campbell Trophy.
The JH squad went 4-2 on the day earning 2nd place. Cohen Small was named captain of the JH All-Tournament team. Hallsville claimed the Sam Berkowitz trophy.

The Varsity/Junior Varsity baseball games between Scotland County and Highland, scheduled for tonight, have been postponed.
This is a reminder that any eighth graders wanting to attend the field trip with Mr. Lucas this morning will meet at the west side of the courthouse at 9:20 AM. Students can attend, even if they did not turn in a slip to Mr. Lucas. The field trip will last around an hour and a half.
Good afternoon. Parent Teacher Conference for grades 7-12 will be held in the high school gym Thursday, March 16, 2023, from 3:45-6:30 pm. Grade cards can be picked up in the High School office. If you have any questions please reach out to the high school office.
Today Mrs. Kiger’s students conducted research on the Russian Revolution as a precursor to reading Animal Farm. They took that research and created one pager posters to depict what they learned.

The Missouri National Guard visited the Law and Debate class today explaining the duties of the National Guard.
Scotland County Spring Book Fair is this Tuesday through Friday in the elementary library. Hours will be 7 am until 6 pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. The book fair will be open until 8 pm on Thursday for family night. Visitors may enter through the doors by the library as we will be monitoring for patrons.

Mr. Lucas's careers class listened to Brooklyn Weber from MACC as she came in to talk about the post secondary programs that they offer for High School graduates. There are many new programs that get students into the workforce sooner with less debt and competitive pay.
