Kirk Stott, Head Varsity Football Coach, Scotland County High School, presented a program to the members of the Rotary Club of Scotland County on August 7, 2024. Coach Stott is the only school employed varsity football staff. Volunteer varsity coaching staff are Jason Small, Dave Shalley, Matt Wickert and Jordan Fulk. The Junior High coaching staff are: Kody McCluskey, Chris Cerroni and Jim Long. The varsity team currently has 36 students committed to the 2024 season. This number allows them to have a Junior Varsity team this season and there are 3 JV games scheduled with more possible. August 23rd is the season's annual Jamboree in Monroe City and the first regular season game will be in Louisiana on August 30th. Coach Stott is trying to get the SC football alumni more involved with the players & team. Alumni football events were held the first weekend in August with great participation. Coach Stott talked about how football helps kids learn dedication, accountability, teamwork and much more. Stott (right) is pictured with local Rotarian Lexi Howard.
